SG Taylor Coaching psychology
Realise potential with psychological clarity
Based on a strong foundation of psychological principles, I work with clients to help them to identify and address factors standing between them and increased performance, further achievement, and an enduring sense of wellbeing.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative, goal-focused process that empowers individuals to unlock their potential, navigate change, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Rooted in psychological insight and active listening, coaching provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore challenges, clarify values, and build confidence.
It’s not about giving advice or fixing problems—it’s about facilitating growth through structured reflection, powerful questions, and actionable strategies.

Is it the same as Counselling?
No.
Coaching and Counselling are on a similar spectrum, however, there are some important differences.
Therapeutic counselling should only be undertaken by those specifically trained to deal with issues which might arise, such as trauma and issues around mental health.
There needs to be a clear boundary between this and coaching. If you are unsure, then have a brief conversation with your potential coach and they will either be able to work with you, or signpost you to where might be the best place to assist you.
I like to think of it like this...
A Counsellor can help you to get to the race. A Coach will help you get to the finish line.

Whatever the situation, we will collaborate to identify the psychological underpinning of potential barriers and devise strategies to negotiate them on the way to achieving pre-agreed demonstrable targets.
Neurodiversity
Having been diagnosed with adult ADHD after the age of 40, I have a lived understanding of the difficulties of living with a neurodiverse condition in a neurotypical world. I also have an appreciation of the effects that receiving an ADHD diagnosis as an adult can have on our identity and understanding of ourselves.
Being able to extend my existing coaching skills to allow me to help people going through the same journey I have been, and am still on, has been very rewarding.
